Nursing/Long-term Care

   Big Sandy Medical Center provides a 22-bed skilled care nursing home for the community and surrounding area.  Nurses and certified nurse aides staff the long-term care unit 24-hours a day.  Every resident has each of his or her special needs met by the dietary department, social service department, activity department, and nursing department.  On site provider services are available daily to handle any medical problem. 

     Individual care plans are crafted for each resident to enhance their daily activities and to promote and encourage a lifestyle that is full of interesting and fun daily events.  Support staff provides housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance to help provide a cheery, homelike environment for everyone.
     The rooms are either private or semi-private and are warm and comfortable.  An on-site beauty shop and dental clinic are added services that help enhance the nursing home.

     For those folks who are recovering from an operation or illness, our staff of professionals helps achieve a safe and speedy recovery.  Skilled nursing care and physical therapy are available to help rehabilitate those that may only need a short stay in our skilled nursing home.
