The BSMC laboratory is staffed by licensed medical technologists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Operating hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday for outpatient care, and the other hours are covered on an emergency on-call basis.  We are accredited by the state of Montana and CLIA.  We also participate in national proficiency testing programs and our results are compared and graded nationally to determine our continued proficiency.

            Our laboratory requires healthcare provider’s orders for testing.  All test results are put on charts, phoned, faxed and /or mailed to providers as soon as possible. 

            The laboratory provides services in hematology, serology, microbiology, clinical chemistries, coagulation, and blood gas analysis.  Plus we are affiliated with a large reference laboratory, PAML in Spokane, that can perform any testing not provided here.
